About Charlie

There's something rare about sitting in a room with Charlie Chamberlain. Within a few minutes, the walls seem to move a little closer, the evening slows down, and you realize you're leaning in — not just to hear the music, but to feel it. That's exactly what a house concert is made for, and Charlie Chamberlain is exactly the kind of artist who makes them unforgettable.

A seasoned singer-songwriter with roots sunk deep into the American folk and acoustic tradition, Charlie has earned his place on some of the most storied stages in roots music. His songs have been performed at the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium — two venues that don't just represent country and folk music, they are its heartbeat.

He's graced the hallowed stage of the World Famous Station Inn in Nashville, performed as a New Folk competitor at the legendary Kerrville Folk Festival, and earned a spot as an Official Showcase Artist at the Southwest Folk Alliance — a distinction that speaks volumes among those who know the folk world well. Add a Top Finalist finish at Songwriter Serenade and a featured spot at the Clearwater Festival in New York, and the picture becomes clear: this is an artist whose songs have been tested in every arena and have held up beautifully in all of them.

But Charlie's world doesn't stop at American borders. As a sideman, he has shared stages across 30 countries, bringing music to audiences who speak a dozen different languages — and finding that a well-crafted song needs no translation. That breadth of experience shows up in his performances: a natural ease, a comfort with all kinds of audiences, and an ability to read a room and bring everyone along for the ride.

Charlie has also brought his gifts into the classroom and beyond, serving as a featured performer and educator at Saint Paul's School in Concord, NH and at Loomis Chaffee. His commitment to nurturing the next generation of artists runs even deeper as a four-time Grammy U Mentor — a role that reflects not just his musicianship, but his genuine love of connection and conversation around the art of songwriting.

In a house concert setting, all of that history distills into something wonderfully simple: a person, a guitar, and songs that stay with you long after the last note fades. Charlie is easy to host — warm, professional, and deeply appreciative of the intimate format that house concerts offer. He treats every living room like it's the Ryman, and every audience like they're old friends.
